Wohnhaus an der Ziegelhütte

Das zweigeschossige, verputzte Fachwerkhaus mit vorkragenden Geschossen und profilierten Schwellen wurde im Jahre 1688 erstmals erwähnt, ist im Kern jedoch wahrscheinlich älter. Das Haus, das am ehemaligen äußeren Dorfgraben steht, liegt jenseits des ehemaligen Kirchheimer oder Thalhofer Tores. Seit mindestens der Mitte des 17. Jh. bis zum Ende des 18. Jh. war es im Besitz einer Ziegler-Familie, die auch die ehemals benachbarte Ziegelhütte betrieb. Das Wohnhaus ist weitgehend original erhalten und veranschaulicht daher sehr gut die Bauweise der Zeit um 1700.

La maison de deux étages à colombages en crépi avec des étages en saillie et des bandeaux de façade, moulures horizontales profilées, fut mentionnée pour la première fois en 1688, mais le cœur de l’habitation est probablement plus ancien. La maison, située sur les anciennes douves extérieures du village, se trouve au-delà de l’ancienne porte de Kirchheim ou de Thalhof. Depuis au moins le milieu du 17e s. jusqu’à la fin du 18e s., elle appartint à une famille de briquetiers qui, jadis, exploitait également la briqueterie voisine. Le bâtiment d’habitation est en grande partie conservé d’origine et illustre très bien le mode de construction de l’époque vers 1700.

The two-storey rendered timber-framed house, with protruding floors and profiled thresholds, was initially referred to in 1688, but the core of building is probably older. The house, which is situated at the former outer village moat, lies beyond the former Kirchheim and Thalhof gates. Since at least the middle of the 17th century until the end of the 18th century, the house was in the possession of a brick-making family, who also operated the previously neighbouring brick kiln. The residence is broadly originally preserved and therefore exemplifies the architecture of the time; circa 1700; very well.
